PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To settle a problem that, on a medium, a region usable for products can not be widely secured. SOLUTION: The cutting apparatus for cutting a sheet-like medium comprises a cutting part for cutting the medium by relatively moving against the one surface of the medium, a reading part for reading a position adjusting index recorded on the other surface of the medium, and a controlling part for cutting the medium by driving the cutting part so as to adjust position of the cutting part against the medium based on a position adjusting signpost read out by the reading part.
