PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of executing recording without conspicuous defects while suppressing effects on recording due to recording position displacement occurring when the rear end part of a recording medium slips out from a pair of rollers being a transfer means, and a recording method. SOLUTION: It is possible to execute recording without conspicuous defects while putting noise components into recording by switching intervals between paper sheets even if displacement of the recording medium occurs when the rear end part of the recording medium slips out from clamping executed by a transfer roller and a pinch roller. The pinch roller is released when the rear end part of the recording medium slips out from the clamping executed by the transfer roller and the pinch roller so as to achieve high-definition recording without accidental adverse effects on recording such as streaks due to a misalignment of a landing position of liquid droplets caused by a mechanical configuration while suppressing displacement itself of the recording medium.
