The clip (A) has an overall wedge shape, and is inserted into saw-cut slots (S) in the panels. These are cut at a small angle with respect to each other, rather than being parallel, hence enabling wedged connection. By hitting the clip with a hammer, the panels are joined, at the same time pressing them tightly together. A two-piece variant of the clip forms a connection which is not visible from the outside. This variant is based on positive and negative circular interlocking, and cannot be separated when it is wedged into position. By hitting the clip in the opposite direction, the panels are released without damage.
