<p>Producing a calcium compound in the form of lamellar crystals useful for the manufacture of paper or cardboard comprises preparing a calcium-containing starting material, introducing carbon dioxide and performing a mixing process under laminar flow conditions. An independent claim is also included for apparatus for producing a material useful for the manufacture of paper or cardboard, comprising a mixer comprising a container, a stirrer and a hollow stirrer shaft with arms in the form of conduits communicating with the shaft, which is connected to a source for introducing a fluid additive.</p> |
