Pigment preparation (I) comprises at least a pigment (10-75 wt.%), at least a diluent (not more than 20 wt.%), at least a condensation resin (5-60 wt.%) such as aldehyde resin or ketone resin, optionally at least an another binder such as an aldehyde resin or ketone resin, at least an oil (greater than 0.1-50 wt.%), and optionally at least an additive, where the sum of the components is exactly 100 wt.%. An independent claim is included for a method for preparing (I) comprising mixing the pigment and oil and mixing at least a condensation resin such as aldehyde resin or ketone resin and optionally at least a diluent with the obtained pigment-oil mixture.
