<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device provided with a front light capable of keeping the visibility and color reproducibility of the display device high. <P>SOLUTION: The front light has grooves 22 each composed of a gentle slope portion 22a and a steep slope portion 22b, wherein the gentle slope portion 22a is inclined at an angle θ<SB>1</SB>with respect to a flat exiting plane 21b and the angle θ<SB>1</SB>is controlled in the range of 1.5° to 2.5°, and the steep slope portion 22b is inclined at an angle θ<SB>2</SB>with respect to the exiting plane 21b and the angle θ<SB>2</SB>is controlled to the range of 35° to 38°. By controlling the angles θ<SB>1</SB>, θ<SB>2</SB>of the gentle slope portion 22a and the steep slope portion 22b, respectively, constituting the groove 22 to the above ranges, visibility and color reproducibility of a liquid crystal panel 2 are maintained in a preferred state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
