GPON SYSTEM CAPABLE OF EXECUTING SECURITY TRANSMISSION THROUGH AUTHENTICATION ENCRYPTION AND AUTHENTICATION ENCRYPTION METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of executing security transmission through authentication encryption applied to respective ONUs in the case of downlink transmission from an OLT in a gigabit passive optical network (GPON) and to provide an authentication encryption method thereof.

SOLUTION: The GPON system capable of executing the security transmission through the authentication and encryption includes the OLT for receiving delivery of data from an external service provider, generating a GTC downlink frame and transmitting the frame to the downlink; and a huge number of the ONUs for receiving the GTC downlink frame transmitted from the OLT and processing the received frame, and it is characterized in that the OLT includes an authentication generating module for authentication by each ONU applied to the generated GTC downlink frame to execute authentication encryption applied to the generated GTC downlink frame, and each ONU includes an authentication check module to determine reception propriety of the GTC downlink data depending on the success/failure of the authentication applied to the GTC downlink frame subjected to the authentication encryption.
