<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic polymer closer to human body component, capable of forming a polyion complex with hyaluronic acid or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The cationic polymer is a cationized hyaluronic acid where at least part of the hydrogen atoms of the hydroxy groups in hyaluronic acid is(are) substituted with quaternary ammonium cationic group-bearing group(s). This polymer can be synthesized by reacting a cationizing agent such as a glycidyl trialkylammonium halide on hyaluronic acid.
