PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device relaxing a stress in the vicinity of a light emitting end face. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser device has a mounting member, a laminate containing an active layer composed of a semiconductor, a first electrode formed on the first main surface of the laminate, and a second electrode formed on the first electrode. The semiconductor laser device has a semiconductor laser element formed on the mounting member. In the semiconductor laser device, the end of the second electrode is positioned in the same plane as the end of the mounting member or projected to the side outer than the end of the mounting member.
