PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve reducing damper effect and squeeze effect without deteriorating magnetic characteristics. SOLUTION: The fuel injection valve is provided with a housing 11, a cylindrical fixed core 40 and a movable core 50, a gap 44 is provided between an outer circumference surface in a movable core 50 side of a fixed core 40 and an inner circumference surface of a housing, and a communication hole 46 establishing communication between the gap 44 and an inner circumference part of the fixed core 40 is formed on the fixed core 40. When a movable core 50 moves to the fixed core 40 side, fuel displaced by the movable core 50 is released to an inner circumference part of the fixed core 40 via the gap 44 and the communication hole 46. Consequently, damper effect can be sufficiently reduced even if, in an embodiment a width of a slit groove is limited. Squeeze effect can be sufficiently reduced in the same manner.
