PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition for a column spacer that can effectively suppress occurrence of color irregularity due to gravity failure without causing low temperature foaming, and to provide a column spacer and a liquid crystal display element using the curable resin composition for a column spacer. SOLUTION: The curable resin composition for a column spacer contains a compound having two or more polymerizable unsaturated bonds in the molecule, an alkali-soluble polymer compound and a photoreaction initiator, wherein the alkali-soluble polymer is a macropolymer comprising a polymer modified with 3,4-epoxy cyclohexyl(meth)acrylate, the polymer having a monomer as a structural unit of a (meth)acrylic acid with addition of caprolactone.
