PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both of compactness and high heat transferring efficiency of a preheating device by neatly and compactly loading a large amount of scrap press-formed mainly in rectangular shapes on a truck of a truck type tunnel kiln. SOLUTION: The preheating device for steel scrap mainly press-formed has the truck type tunnel kiln, the truck conveyed into the tunnel kiln, and a forwarding line for returning the truck conveyed from the tunnel kiln back into the tunnel kiln. A plurality of pushers are provided in the transferring direction of the truck for pushing out the scrap from a waiting position in the substantially orthogonal direction with respect to the transferring direction of the truck and loading the scrap on the truck, and the push out distance of the pushers can be stepwise adjusted.
