PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of omitting any strict control of the humidity and the temperature in a manufacturing step, and enhancing the high-speed durability and the high-speed steering stability. SOLUTION: A carcass 6 consists of carcass plies 6A in which carcass cords are arrayed at the angle of 70-90°with respect to the tire circumferential direction. A refined cellulose fiber cord is used for the carcass cords, and the breaking strength S1 of the refined cellulose fiber cord in a dry state in which the refined cellulose fiber cord is dried for two hours at the temperature of 120°C is set to be≥3.5 gf/dtex.
