PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring a movable die for hemming into contact with a work in a proper attitude. SOLUTION: A movable die 18 is held by a robot 22 and is brought close to a vehicle 12, and positioning pins 62 are inserted into positioning holes 65 of the vehicle 12. The force to maintain the attitude of the robot 22 is reduced, and the movable die 18 is brought into a floating state which is displaceable in relation to the vehicle 12. While the movable die 18 is held by the robot 22, the surface 49a of the movable die 18 is brought into contact with the vehicle 12 by an adsorption mechanism 58 having an adsorption part 67a of an elastic body, which is mounted on the movable die 18.
