发明名称 Improvements in or relating to methods of bonding
摘要 962,851. Cementing footwear. BOSTIK Ltd. July 1, 1960 [July 10, 1959], No. 23034/60. Heading A3B. [Also in Division B5] Surfaces are bonded together by applying to one surface a thick layer of a molten amorphous adhesive composition comprising a crystallizable linear polyester resin, supercooling the composition, or allowing it to supercool, below its crystal melting point but above its second order transition temperature, in amorphous condition, and pressing the second surface against the composition, causing it to flow and inducing crystallization to form a firm bond. The resin used is preferably a copolyester (in molar ratio between 60:40 and 90:10) of terephthalic and isophthalic acids esterified with a straight chain glycol of 2-10C atoms having the hydroxyl groups on the terminal atoms, the preferred glycols being those having an even number (for example 2, 4 or 6) C atoms, the most preferred being 1,4-butanediol. In making the resins the glycol may be reacted with the acids themselves or their methyl esters or acid glycols. In the preferred application the molten resin is extruded and cooled to form supercooled rods, and these rods are used in a heated gun to apply a line of molten resin to an insole 12 held with an upper 10, and lining 20 and box toe material 22, on a last 13 of a lasting machine, the turned-over edges of the upper 10 then being pressed by the machine against the insole to spread the resin into a crystallized layer 28. Specifications 962,852 and 962,853 are referred to.
