<p>The piezo-electric actuator in particular located at the fuel injection valve is operated by a control device in order to open and close the valve as required by changing its length. It acts on a piston confining a space filled with pressurized fuel of a hydraulic coupler. The actuator is operated (110) in relation to the pressure level present (100) within the space and extended until the pressure has reached a predetermined threshold value. Independent claims are given for a computer program for a performance of the method, a memory device containing the program, and a control device for a performance of the method.</p> |
