PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device wherein the occurrence of an afterimage phenomenon is suppressed.

SOLUTION: The display device includes; a first display plate including a pixel electrode which is disposed in a transmitting region and a first impurity adsorption electrode which is disposed in a light-shielding region and is separated from the pixel electrode; a second display plate which faces the first display plate and includes a second impurity adsorption electrode which is disposed in the light-shielding region to face the first impurity adsorption electrode; and a medium interposed between the first display plate and the second display plate. Thus the concentration of ion impurities in a pixel region is reduced to be able to suppress the occurrence of an afterimage phenomenon.
