<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which enables a driving current to be accurately measured by maintaining a lighting state of an LD for as long a period of time as possible, without increasing costs, and which suppresses a deterioration in a photo conductor by making a time for the application of LD light to the photo conductor as short as possible, and a driving current measuring method for a light-emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner for forming an image generates an optical beam which is modulated in accordance with image data by imparting an electric current to the light-emitting element LD, scans the generated optical beam by the reflection of a rotating polygon mirror 2, and forms an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive means 4 by making the optical beam provide the image. Light emission and the measurement of the electric current in a period, except the period when the image is formed by generating the modulated optical beam, are performed in the state of making the light-emitting element LD continuously emit the light and of scanning the optical beam output by necessarily rotating the rotating polygon mirror 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
