<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for utilizing DVD content through a home network. <P>SOLUTION: When DVD contents of a server are recognized at a client, video manager information and video title set information regarding the DVD content are preferentially received to acquire sector information regarding a title, a program chain and a program and this is utilized to request DVD content in units of a sector. When data are encoded, the server transmits a disk key and a title key together with the data. Thus, the user is capable of utilizing various functions provided by the DVD video similarly to reproducing DVD content through a local DVD player while reproducing DVD content stored in a remote server through devices of a home network. Therefore, it is possible to reduce concerns of the DVD copyrighter about illegal copying of the content since encoded data are transmitted as they are, without being decoded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
