<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and a paper feeding control method capable of performing suitable paper feeding even if a plurality of paper feeding units are connected and paper feeding is performed from any paper feeding ports and even if image formation is continuously performed while switching the paper feeding port. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of sensors provided at a constant distance from respective paper feeding units are provided on a conveying passage for recording paper, and the sensor for firstly detecting the feeding of the recording paper from the designated paper feeding unit onto its conveying passage is used as a paper feeding timing reference sensor. Further, the paper feeding unit for feeding the recording medium used for subsequent image formation is compared with the paper feeding unit for feeding the recording medium used in the former image formation and it is determined that it is an upstream, a downstream or the same paper feeding unit regarding the conveying passage. Further, according to the determination result, a time to the feeding timing of the recording medium used for the subsequent image formation after the selected paper feeding timing reference sensor detects the recording medium is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
