USER AUTHENTICATION DEVICE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve user authentication in a short time even under an environment where it is not possible to acquire stable light quality for acquiring the image of a user. SOLUTION: This user authentication device is provided with a camera 51; an authentication part 52 for executing user authentication based on image information from the camera 51; an utterance part 53 for uttering questions relevant to user authentication when the reliability of authentication result by the authentication part 52 is less than a determination reference value for determining that authentication is successful; and a person specifying part 55 for specifying a user based on the authentication result by the authentication part 52 and the reliability and an answer to the question.
