PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner comprising a means for automatically removing dust from air filters without enlarging an indoor unit main body, and shortening a dust removing time. SOLUTION: Parts opposite to front and upper face portions of a heat exchanger 8, of the indoor unit main body 1 are provided with a front suction opening 4 and an upper suction opening 5, a front air filter 17 and an upper air filter 20 are movably disposed in opposition to these suction openings in a divided state, an air filter cleaning unit S comprising a rotary brush 30 for removing dust from each of the air filters and a dust receiving passage 31 for collecting dust, is disposed over the whole length in the axial direction on a central portion between portions opposite to the front suction opening and the upper suction opening, of a frame assembly 16, the front air filter is disposed on a front face of the frame assembly, the upper air filter is disposed on its upper face, the front air filter is reciprocated between the air filter cleaning unit and an upper air filter installation position, and the upper air filter is reciprocated between the air filter cleaning unit and an front air filter installation position.
