PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oily ink composition for a ball-point pen, which writes well with a light touch and is free of splitting of drawn lines or leakage. SOLUTION: The oily ink composition for a ball-point pen comprises a pigment, an organic solvent, a viscosity modifier and less than 0.1 wt.% non-Newtonian viscosity imparting agent, wherein the viscosity at 25°C at a shear rate of 500 s-1is 800-5,000 mPa s, the viscosity at a shear rate of 5 s-1is 3,000-20,000 mPa s and the non-Newtonian viscosity index is 0.5-0.9.
