PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present a new guideline for proper doping conditions for increasing a capacitance or working voltage limit by doping or the like, in an electric double layer capacitor using a carbon nano tube for a polarization electrode. SOLUTION: Donor is doped to the positive pole of an electrode, an acceptor is doped to a negative pole of the electrode, or the donor and acceptor are respectively doped to the positive and negative poles of the electrode so that the limit of an applicable voltage can be enlarged by the effects of doping. Also, the dope quantity of the donor and/or the acceptor is selected, so that the minimum value of the absolute value ¾dQ/dV¾ of the differential coefficients of charge Q to be stored in the electrodes according to the application of the voltage between electrodes to an application voltage V can be prevented from being within the working voltage limit of the capacitor.
