摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently find minimum light reception sensitivity in error rate characteristic measurement. SOLUTION: This error rate characteristic measurement system is equipped with: light signal supply means 120 and 130 for giving modulated light signals to an object under test; a variable light attenuation means 140 capable of outputting the light signals passing through the object with variable intensity; a light receiving part 150 for receiving the light signals outputted from the attenuation means to convert it into electric signals; an error detection means 116 for detecting errors included in the electric signals from the receiving part; and a control means 111 for estimating the maximum reception light power not greater than a required error rate as minimum light reception sensitivity from a measurement point distribution state based on a relation between reception light power outputted from the attenuation means and received by the receiving part and the rate of errors detected by the detection means while changing power set in the attenuation means.
