摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein there is a possibility of causing danger to workers due to the possibility of a large current flowing to metal environment around a tunnel excavating device such as timbering and travel rails when applying high voltage of 8-20 kV to a discharge electrode to carry out electric discharge. SOLUTION: This tunnel excavating device 2 comprises a boring machine 5 and the discharge electrode 6 at the head part; a power supply unit 8 behind the discharge electrode; an isolation transformer 10 near the power supply unit; a power supply part mounting vehicle 11 mounting the power supply unit and the isolation transformer; and an operating vehicle 13 connected to the rear part of the power supply part mounting vehicle 11 to move the power supply part mounting vehicle in the proceeding direction of excavation. A shelter 101 electrically isolated from the working face side metal environment is further provided on the portal side by providing an insulator between the working face side metal environment around the tunnel excavating device located on the working face side from the isolation transformer in an excavated hole, and the portal side metal environment around the tunnel excavating device located on the portal side from the isolation transformer.
