PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder such as an ink jet printer in which ink staying on the ink ejection plane can be removed surely using a wiper blade without causing color mixture. SOLUTION: Between a wiper blade 5 and the end face 6 of an ink jet head 4 opposing the ink ejection plane 1, an edge 8 for wiping ink from an ink ejection plane 1 is formed. A recess 11 reaching the edge 8 and receiving ink wiped from each ink ejection plane 1 is provided at a position on the front side face 7 in the moving direction corresponding to the gap between adjacent ink ejection planes 1.
