PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially expand a visual field of an endoscopic image without performing any special operations to the movements or changes of the magnification of the endoscope if a treatment tool moves outside a region captured by the endoscopic image. SOLUTION: An endoscope visual field expanding system 10 is configured by position/posture detecting means 13, 15, 23 for detecting positions and postures of an endoscope E and the treatment tool F and a compound image creating means 24 for creating a compound image A to which a prescribed CG image A2 is added outside the endoscopic image A1 captured by the endoscope E from the detected value. The compound image creating means 24 reflects the existence of the treatment tool F in the CG image A2 in a manner to correspond to the actual position and the posture of the treatment tool F from the imaged region appearing in the endoscopic image A1.
