The invention concerns the cosmetic or dermatological use of at least one compound of formula (I), wherein: R<SUB>1</SUB>, R<SUB>2</SUB>, R<SUB>3</SUB>, R<SUB>4</SUB>, R<SUB>5</SUB> and G are such as defined in the description as whitening and/or depigmenting agents for the skin and/or hairs and/or the hair. The invention also concerns a cosmetic method for whitening and/or lightening the skin and/or hairs and/or the hair comprising applying a composition of the invention.
