An EPDM(Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) foam elastic rubber chip and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to secure excellent elasticity and durability, to pave a wide area with the same weight, and to facilitate maintenance and repair works. The EPDM foam elastic rubber chip manufacturing method comprises the steps of: obtaining the first mixed material of EPDM and raw rubber by making the properties of EPDM and raw rubber into one with blending the EPDM and raw rubber at the rate of 7:3~8:2 in a mixer(S10); mixing and kneading the first mixed material, calcium carbonate of 50wt.%, process oil of 4wt.%, an antioxidant of 3wt.%, zinc of 2wt.%, stearic acid of 1wt.%, an accelerant of 4wt.%, a pigment of 2wt.%, a foaming agent of 3wt.%, and a dispersing agent of 1~2wt.%, in the mixer at 90~100°C for 10~20 minutes; inserting the kneaded material into a roller and then making the kneaded material into a plate-shaped sheet(S20); producing foamed plate-shaped EPDM by vulcanizing the plate-shaped sheet in a heating press mold for 20~30 minutes to make the specific gravity 1(S30); naturally drying and cooling down the plate-shaped EPDM(S40); and producing EPDM foam elastic rubber chips by breaking the plate-shaped EPDM into pieces in a crusher. |
