<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding type automatic opening/closing gate door taking a high opening height and a large effective opening frontage dimension and performing smooth opening/closing operation. <P>SOLUTION: The gate door 5 opened/closed between a door end side post 1 and a folding side post 3 comprises a plurality of panels 9 with the respective side ends connected to one another by hinges 7. Each panel 9 is rotatably suspended from a slider 15 traveling on a travel rail 13 mounted to an upper structure 11 disposed between the door end side post 1 and the folding side post 3. Each panel 9 is extended into an extending position along the travel rail 13 in the closed state, and folded into a folding position by rotating in a right-angled direction to the direction of the travel rail 13 in the open state.
