<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic or semiautomatic method for determination for cancer tissue using a large number of image data sets such as functional image data sets and structural image data sets. <P>SOLUTION: Automatic evaluation of an interest area is based on determination 74, 76, and 78 of features of a plurality of image data sets obtained by a plurality of image modalities. In this embodiment, the evaluation is based on determination 74, 76, 78 of one or a plurality of features concerning each region of interest obtained from combination of structural image data and functional image data. In one embodiment, a set of structural image data refers to a set of CT image data, and a set of functional image data refers to a set of PET image data.
