<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode layout that reduces loss by a rugged pattern (texture) or leakage of light, and improves the aperture ratio and transmittance. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a plurality of pixel electrodes fabricated in a matrix, with each pixel electrode having at least two parallelogram electrode chips, having a pair of longitudinal sides and a pair of inclined sides adjacent to the longitudinal sides; and a common electrode facing the pixel electrodes and having a determining member that determines the tilt direction of liquid crystal molecules. Lateral center lines of pixel electrodes adjoining in a row direction among the pixel electrodes are shifted in the columnar direction; and the determining members of tilt directions, corresponding to pixel electrodes, adjoining in the row direction among the pixel electrodes, are connected to each other in the row direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
