<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection film which is improved in film strength and chemical resistance and is suppressive in variation of reflection color and the occurrence of unevenness, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same and an image display device using the antireflection film. <P>SOLUTION: The method, by which an antireflection layer containing metal oxide fine particles and a binder as main components is formed on a transparent support film by application, is characterized in that, before the antireflection layer is formed, discharge is generated by applying a high frequency voltage having 50 kHz to 150 MHz frequency between facing electrodes under the atmospheric pressure or a pressure in the vicinity thereof and an excited gas formed by the discharge is brought into contact with the surface of the transparent support film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
