PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emit light having an appropriate quantity of light for photographing even if the quantity of light is in shortage only by natural light when photographing still images and animations. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises an imaging section for imaging the animation containing a plurality of images; a requested light quantity calculator for calculating the requested quality of light for the animation required, when the imaging section captures the image; and a light emission control unit for allowing a light emitter to emit light for a prescribed number of intermittent light emission times by the light of the quantity of light for intermittent light emission, where the requested quantity of light for the animation calculated by the requested light quantity calculator is divided by the prescribed number of intermittent light emission times, in an exposure period when the imaging section captures the image.
