PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice making machine capable of accurately detecting abnormality in motion of a water tray and coping therewith. SOLUTION: This ice making machine comprises a driving device 11 comprising a deceleration motor 10 for opening and closing the water tray 5, a water tray position detecting switch 30 detecting a horizontal close position and an inclined open position of the water tray 5, and a microcomputer 25 controlling the deceleration motor 10 of the driving device 11 on the basis of an output of the water tray position detecting switch 30. The microcomputer 25 judges the occurrence of abnormality when the water tray position detecting switch 30 detects the horizontal close position of the water tray 5 even after the lapse of a prescribed time from starting of tilting the water tray 5 from the horizontal close position.
