PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article whose leakage prevention groove portion is designed to be prevented from separating from the body. SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 is provided with a liquid permeable front sheet 2, at least a part of which is liquid permeable a liquid impermeable back sheet 3, an absorbent body 4 positioned between the front sheet 2 and the back sheet 3, and a leakage prevention groove portion 10 in which one or more leakage prevention grooves 100 are continuously formed where the front sheet 2 and the absorbent body 4 are compressed together. The leakage prevention groove portion 10 has a plurality of U-shaped parts U1 and U2 whose shapes are dependent on the number of the leakage prevention grooves 100 formed in the width direction of the U-shaped parts U1 and U2.
