PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device by which rattling is prevented by a simple structure. SOLUTION: Second guides 1Cb and 1Db are provided so as to be parallel to an axis X passing through the center of a circle of a circumference provided with internal teeth 21, and first guides 1Ca and 1Da are provided so as to be inclined by an angle ofθrelative to the axis X passing through the center of the circle of the circumference provided with the internal teeth. A second lock gear 5b slid by the second guides is vertically meshed with the internal teeth 21, and a first lock gear 5a slid by the first guides is obliquely meshed with the internal teeth 21. Therefore, the two lock gears 5a and 5b are pressed against the internal teeth through a cam 6, rattling caused by a gap between the guides and the lock gear and a gap between the inner periphery of a base plate 1 and the outer periphery of a gear plate 2 is prevented.
