The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for fractionating liquids that are charged with particles. The inventive apparatus comprises at least one separating device and at least one collecting device. The collecting device is provided with at least two receptacles (4) while the outlet of the at least one separating device (5, 6) extends into a distribution system (8) which encompasses an adjustable outlet (9) that can optionally be directed to the inlet of the receptacles (4). The distribution system (8) introduces the liquid into the at least two receptacles (4) of the collecting device in a controlled manner according to the event and the time. The fractionating apparatus is designed in a very compact fashion while the expenditure on equipment is significantly reduced. Furthermore, the disclosed apparatus meets the need for rapid fractionating, which is required particularly in biological analyses. |
