A sweeper (100) including a rotating brush or drum (104) supported by a floa t arm (112) movably coupled to a bucket (110). The float arm (112) is coupled to a linkage (214) to movably support the float arm (112) between a retracted position and a forward position. Float arm (112) is supported independently of a hood connected to the bucket (110) and is movable through linkage (214) relative to hood. In an illustrated embodiment, float arm (112) is rotationally coupled to linkage (214) to compensate for height variations and/or provide a mechanism to rotate linkage (214) to move the float arm (11 2) forward relative to the bucket.
