PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for forming color images while achieving remarkable miniaturization.

SOLUTION: A tandem system color digital printer 1 comprises an imaging unit 2M having a developing device 6M storing a developer including a magenta-based toner, an imaging unit 2C having a developing device 6C storing a developer including cyan-based toner, and an imaging unit 2K having a developing device 6K storing a developer including a black-based toner as an imaging unit. The printer forms color images by toner images of three colors of magenta, cyan and black.
