PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem, wherein, while a sightseeing guide map is a sketch map of local main roads and noted places for sightseeing, which does not have the function of measuring the distance to a destination from the map and identifying the present location, and even if a part of precisely figured maps is used as a guide map in some cases, for a traveler having no sense of the place, it is close to impossible to read a present location or the four directions of the north, south, east and west from this map, so that the traveler loses much time to determine the present location once deviated from a sightseeing course. SOLUTION: A latitude/longitude value of a local construct is measured in advance, and the value is displayed in the construct. Also, the four cardinal directions of north, south, east and west are classified by colors and displayed in the local construct so that the facing direction can be determined as to which direction among the four directions. At the same time, a paper map displays an enclosure line of the map, color indication of four cardinal directions, a rough latitude/longitude line and a numerical value indicating the value, and further a detailed latitude/longitude scale at the corner of the map. When the present location is to be determined, the latitude/longitude scale is cut off and used as a location determining rule, on the basis of the latitude/longitude value of local display.
