PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connection member of which the polarization-preserving characteristic is maintained in a favorable state even if a polarization-preserving optical fiber is fixed with an adhesive or solder so as to form the optical fiber connection member by inserting the polarization-preserving optical fiber into a minute hole of a ferrule to fix the fiber. SOLUTION: The optical fiber connection member comprises: the polarization-preserving optical fiber 6 having a stress applying part 73 inserted and fixed in the minute hole 5 of the ferrule 3; and an angle index 12 indicating the direction of polarization plane in the polarization-preserving optical fiber 6 provided on the surface of a ferrule holding pipe 2 for holding the ferrule 3. The angle index 12 is formed corresponding to the direction of the polarization after the polarization-preserving optical fiber 6 is inserted into the minute hole 5 of the ferrule 3 and fixedly bonded there.
