PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect mounting of an option cassette and automatically adjust panel contrast and brightness, making a display be watched easily by an operator, in an inkjet printer equipped with an LCD panel. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer has a means for detecting mounting of the lower option cassette and a structure which enables automatic changes in brightness-voltage or contrast-voltage characteristics.
