PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary writing utensil, with a plurality of refills, which enables switching of the refill without bothering to shift a main body from one hand to the other. SOLUTION: In this rotary writing utensil, an inner barrel (2) is installed rotatably inside the main body (1). In the rear part of the inner barrel (2), a slide rail (10) for retaining a plurality of the refills (9) movably in the axial direction, is set. Further, in the rear part of the main body (1), an actuating cam (17) with a tilting cam surface (18) is fixedly installed. In addition, a sliding cam (13) is fitted to the rear part of each refill (9) so as to allow the sliding cam (13) to come into contact with the tilting cam surface (18) of the actuating cam (17) and thereby, the refill (9) is pressed backward by a spring (16). The tip of the inner barrel (2) protrudes from the forward end of the main body (1) and works as a rotary operation part (7).
