<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered roller bearing having a longer rolling fatigue life under lubrication with the mixture of foreign matters therein while securing the strength of a collar portion. <P>SOLUTION: A surface layer portion of the collar surface of an inner ring 1 has a Vickers hardness Hv of 700-760, a remaining austenite amount of 12-40 Vol.%, and an austenite crystal grain size equivalent to a grain number 10 specified by [JIS G0551] or finer. For this purpose, a raw material of bearing steel is machined into the shape of the inner ring 1 and then hardening and annealing are applied for cooling after induction heating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
