OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device which prevents a submarine phenomenon without impairing sitting comfort.

SOLUTION: A substantially regular hexagonal cylindrical storage cylinder 34 is stored in a storing recess 21 provided at a bottom frame 19 of a seat 12. An inflator 24 as a gas generating source is stored in the storage cylinder 34. The storage cylinder 34 is incorporated into an air bag 25 made of fabric. The cylindrical inflator 24 is screwed on a bottom wall 26 for forming the storing recess 21. A supporting surface 342 to be one of 6 planes to be outer peripheral surfaces 340 of the storage cylinder 34 is parallel to an upper surface 192 of a supporting wall 190. A height position of the supporting surface 342 is set to be a position slightly lower than the upper surface 192. The supporting surface 342 faces a lower surface 332 of a seat cushion 33.
