PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection apparatus capable of accurately and precisely detecting a collision regardless of a collision position. SOLUTION: A pedestrian collision detection apparatus 10 comprises: a sensor holding plate 100; an optical fiber 101a; and a load transfer member 101d. The load transfer member 101d is arranged to surround the periphery of the optical fiber 101a. A dimension of the load of the load transfer member 101d at positions other than a refraction position in an impressing direction is set to be smaller than the size at the refraction position. Therefore, the loads to be transferred to the optical fiber 101a become identical regardless of the collision position, thereby accurately and precisely detecting the collision.
