<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance heat insulator with a gas adsorbing material produced by using an adsorptive compound having high gas adsorbing activity, particularly, nitrogen adsorbing performance, for adsorbing a great capacity of gas under ordinary temperature and ordinary pressure or under ordinary temperature and reduced pressure. <P>SOLUTION: The heat insulator 6 comprises an inorganic fiber aggregated core material 7 and the gas adsorbing material 1, and a gas-barrier shell material 8 covering them and formed of a laminate film consisting of a surface protecting layer, a gas barrier layer and a heat welded layer. The shell material 8 is internally depressurized. The gas adsorbing material 1 contains an adsorptive laminated metal complex having open metal sites, chemical water adsorptive substance, an oxygen adsorptive material and a hydrogen adsorptive material.
