PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic recorder which is high in printing quality without causing any memory phenomenon. SOLUTION: The electrostatic printer uses a photoreceptor (may be a photoreceptor belt) comprising an organic photoconductor as a base material and having a single layer structure and electrifies the photoreceptor, to form an electrostatic latent image based on image information and develop the latent image into a toner image. In the electrostatic printer, printing speed is 300mm/sec or more. A primary static eliminating light source is provided on the upstream side of a transfer mechanism, an AC static eliminator and a cleaning mechanism are arranged on the upstream side of a transfer unit and a reelectrifier and a second static eliminating light source are provided on the downstream side of the AC static eliminator and the cleaning mechanism. Alternatively, the primary static eliminating light source is provided on the upstream side of the transfer mechanism, an AC static eliminator to which a DC bias having the same polarity as the main charge polarity is applied is arranged on the downstream side of the transfer unit, and the secondary static eliminating light source is provided on the downstream side of the cleaning mechanism.
